Eclosion

The entire human body undergoes cellular renewal every seven years. Does this imply that the individual from seven years ago is distinct from the one today? Bodily renewal resembles the process of shedding, moulting, or metamorphosis. The debris of a chrysalis rebinds into a new form, a fresh vessel of flesh and skin, becoming a fetus. The present body is the sum of the past, and death is the eclosion of rebirth.
